Been feeling pretty tired lately, just getting through the days one at a time. I think a big part of surviving work is reminding yourself that no task is above you, and that even the smallest things you do every day add to your growth and learning.
Bought myself a bean bag, so at least I have something new to look forward to when I get home. The last three days have been horrible with traffic, and the october heat is HEATING. Thankfully, the AC is finally up and running, so that’s one less thing to complain about. Pictured below is a butterfly shaped palmier that my chef friend made for us to have with our morning tea, sooo cute !

The last week has been really busy. Work was pretty much the usual — more responsibilities, more stress, and no time to even pee.
But this week, I actually made time for my friends. Went out on like 5 different nights, slept for maybe 4–5 hours, then dragged myself to work tired and sleepy the next morning. Wouldn’t change a thing.
Did little to no cooking at home this week and basically survived on eating out. Tried two new restaurants and both were amaaaazing.
Pictured below: quite possibly the best steak I’ve ever had, covered in hollandaise, served with fries, veggies and a side of bone marrow broth :D

Normally, I absolutely hate waking up early, but somehow, washing my hair the night before makes me actually look forward to waking up bright and early the next day.
The sun shines so beautifully through my window around 7 AM, the crystal ball hanging by the window throws these little prismatic reflections all over the room, and then there’s me, hair looking beautifully brown in the sunlight, curls falling perfectly, and suddenly life feels a little more put together.
It’s such a simple thing, but it genuinely makes for the most perfect start to the day. Maybe all I needed was clean hair and a little sunshine lol.

Spent the last 5 days at home with my bf, which honestly felt like a mini vacation. Now it’s back to work tomorrow, and as much as I’ve enjoyed the break, I’m excited to get back to the chaotic kitchen life, see my work friends, and jump right back into the madness, gets pretty boring to stay at home.
Oh, and also — my college boys’ U19 team secured 2nd place in Handball DSO! With barely 3 days of practice, I’d say that’s a pretty damn good outcome. Proud of them!

Been sick for a few days, so resting at home and no work, which means cooking more at home.
So far, have made spinach rice and creamy chicken, spaghetti meatlballs, ramen and momo and a biiiig breakfast in bed situation. Will be posting the recipe for spinach rice & chicken soon!

A total crash out day for me and da work bestie. It’s a monday so naturally we thought we would leave early, but nooooo. We wanted to make a three layer entrement and spent 1 hour extra at work trying to get it right.
Also mid day store run to collect 50kgs of flour, a bajillion packets of cream and compound chocolate just to end up not using any of it was a cherry on top!
Anyway, cracked eggs in a perfect triangle.

Went to Jai’s house with the gang and judy. Played contact 123 for hours and ate really good birria tacos.
Stayed out late after a very long time, realizing that it’s okay to sleep less once in a while and hang out with your friends instead.

Somehow every corner I turn has something waiting to hit me. Walk in with 1 bruise, walk out with three new ones.
Half the job is baking, the other half is figuring out what I just walked into. At this point, I’m slowly building a collection of black and blue marks to take home.
Bruise count: 4

30th august, celebrated my birthday last night with some bad karaoke, below average food but the compnay made up for it.
The cake you see here, i made it myself!! it’s a whipped caramel + dark chocolate ganache filling, with chocolate sponge and buttercream frosting. Very proud of the end result and the decor turned out sooo cute.
